Dear Sirs,
I’m Indigo Editore, the publisher of Mr. Daniele Piacentini 's book “HARD WORKERS: THE REAL TERRIERS”. Checking the forum, I noticed topics about working terriers. I hope this information could be of any intrest.
Hereby the resume:
The book “Hard Workers: The Real Terriers”, written by Daniele Piacentini, speaks exclusively of the few terrier breeds (Paterdale Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier, Border Terrier, Deutsche Jagdterrier and Working Lakeland Terrier) still used for work.
It deals with various aspects of this field, from the training of the dogs for their use in the earth and with boar to notes on first aid treatment in cases where dogs suffer injuries while working. It even includes commentary on the prey typically hunted with terriers.
One of the most original aspects of the book consists of a series of interviews of terriermen, among whom are some the best Anglo-Saxon professionals working on a daily basis with packs of Foxhounds.
In the vast panorama of books for dog lovers, this one is surely unique, both for its content and its narrative.
Another special aspect of this work is the enthusiasm that it has provoked in the English themselves, to such a degree, in fact, that we have ventured to print a version in English for American and British readers. We do this in the hope of sharing with other countries the Italian perspective and knowledge of this subject.
With 157 photographs and 15 illustrations (224 pages, hard cover and full color)
